2. Free Lessons on the SignWriting List

Join anytime for free, and start asking questions! Valerie Sutton and others will answer your questions and post the answers in a public forum on the SignWriting List, giving you feedback. You can also learn from other people's questions on the List. List members are Deaf people, teachers of the Deaf, researchers on Sign Languages, and sign-students, from 40 countries. Although most messages are in English, you are welcome to post in any spoken or signed language and the messages will be translated for you...Don't be shy! We would love to hear from you on the List!

Visit SignPuddle and search 39 Sign Language dictionaries from around the world, or add signs yourself to the dictionaries, by using an ingenious little program right on the web, called SignMaker...Send email in SignWriting, translate spoken language gloss-words to written signs in SignWriting, create Sign-Texts, and place signs in other documents...


6. Start Writing SignWriting Dictionaries Yourself!

Visit SignPuddle online, open a dictionary of your choice, scroll down and to the left on the screen you will see a Register Button. Register. Then close the dictionary file and open it again and this time, scroll down and push the Login Button. Login with your new username and password. Then start writing signs, by clicking on the SignMaker icon on the left. Add your signs to the dictionary. Have questions about how to use the software, or how to write a sign? Join the SignWriting List (see #2 above) and start posting your questions to the List. We will answer you!
