January 7, 2000 Dear SignWriting List Members: I have now posted a new chapter on the web: Advanced Finger Movements https://www.SignWriting.org/fing007.html This new section of the Lessons In SignWriting Textbook presents: 1. Sequential Finger Movement Symbols 2. Gradual Finger Movements 3. Single and Multiple Finger Trills 4. Samples of signs that use these symbols 5. Writing rules for finger movements Not every signed language requires finger movement written in detail, but others do, and researchers will always need a way to write the details....I think you will see how some ways to write "assume knowledge" of the signs, writing in a simple fashion, where other versions write every single finger as it bends....
