SignWriting List July 8, 2000 Hello Everyone - I just wanted to say one last thing before I start work I am doing for Italian researchers (yes...one more project which I am assisting!)... My thought is this.... You all have complete freedom to write as you wish... If you want to place the SignWriting symbols from left to right, you are welcome to do so... If you want to write down the page, you are welcome to do so... If you want to write in a different order or placement of symbols than I do...please go ahead... I am not dictating to any of you - I am just sharing how I choose to write. I have been influenced by the Deaf people whom I worked with years ago. We are not necessarily right....we are just trying our best... So don't change all your dictionaries! Do as you please, and what feels right to you - In time, this will all even out and become more stable, but right now it is very important that we do not squash anyone's creativity - Be as creative and free as possible with your writing.... My thought for the day! Now I am going to write a little Italian Sign Language to help a research project there - Have a great weekend everyone! | ||||||||
