Subject:  QUESTION: How to copy a SW Dictionary file?

SignWriting List
September 10, 2001

QUESTION:
I want to copy my SignWriter dictionary file onto a floppy. How do I do that?

ANSWER:
TWO files are needed for each dictionary in SignWriter:

1. "sw____.dic"
2. "sw____.din"

For example, if you have a dictionary named "new", then the
dictionary files you need are named:

swnew.dic
swnew.din

Those two files are located in your sw directory, on your hard drive (C drive).

You need to copy those two files onto your floppy.

You can use Windows to make the copy. Open the sw folder on your C
drive, and search through all the files there. Then insert your
floppy disk, and drag the two files ("sw____.dic and sw____.din")
onto your floppy.

Or you can use MS-DOS to make the copies...but Windows is a little
more friendly!

Hope this helps -
