April 7, 1999 Dear SignWriting List: Today someone wrote to me to inform me that they read an aritcle about SignWriting in "Silent News". This was the first I had heard of the article - I didn't know it had been published! Last Fall, Alexandra Han, a freelance journalist for Silent News, temporarily joined the SignWriting List and posted questions to the List, asking for people's opinions on SignWriting. Several List members responded, as did I, and Alexandra then wrote and submitted the article to the editors. There was no promise date as to when, or even IF, it would ever be published. So this is a nice surprise :-) I just visited the Silent News Web Site: Silent News https://www.SilentNews.org It is an attractive web site with animation and color. If you click on the "last issue" or the "March Issue" icon, you will find a listing of the titles of all of the articles in that issue: https://www.silentnews.org/99_03.html The article is called: "A Controversial Approach to Communication: SignWriting, The "Alphabet" of Signs" By Alexandra Han Since some of you participated in the interview, would you like a copy? I will write to the editors at Silent News to ask if we can have several copies of that issue. When I receive them, I will tell you, and I will be happy to send you a copy. Has anyone already seen the March issue of Silent News? I am so curious (grin).
