Hello Everyone! I am about to drive to the airport to pick up my Dad, who is coming in from Florida. I have not seen him for awhile and I am looking forward to it :-) Meanwhile...guess what? I had kind of a "cyber-hectic" day... It seems that I would send a message to the list, and then it never arrived to the list. So then after an hour or so, I felt frustrated, so I sent it again! You know why I was so eager to send you the message? Because I wanted so badly to share with you about the Texas School for the Deaf!! Anyway - you may possibly get the message...and many copies too...later...who knows when! Paul Cowley and I have had constant communication today about this problem, and it turns out that Humber College, where the ListServe is located, is doing some housecleaning and my messages are just sitting there, waiting to be distributed!! So if you get a bunch of the same message, it was because I was so eager to communicate with you and I didn't understand why my messages were not getting through :-) Meanwhile...I did learn a lot through this experience. I found out that there is a command we all can send to the ListServe to ask for a log of all the messages sent to the ListServe in a given month. These log files are constantly available on the server and are an automated function of LISTSERV. The syntax for retrieving Log files is; GET SW-L LOG98XX (where XX is the numeric month) LOG files are available only to to subscribers of the list. SO...I read the log for the month of May - and guess what - I had not seen all your messages! I think that is because I got quite overwhelmed and tired and I look forward to responding to them later. But I guess the log command is a great tool, because it gives you a list of everything posted in sequence. If you have not received my message about the Texas School for the Deaf and the New Mexico School for the Deaf, you can read it in the log, or you can read their confirmation letter on our SignWriting Web Site: https://www.SignWriting.org/teach009.html Have a great evening everyone - We are going to have quite an exciting time ahead! Much love - Valerie Sutton :-) https://www.SignWriting.org Sutton at the DAC Deaf Action Committee For SignWriting Box 517, La Jolla, CA, 92038-0517, USA (619)456-0098 voice (619)456-0010 tty (619)456-0020 fax |
