Is something wrong with AOL, or is that the way the mailing > list works? If you look at your headers before you reply, you'll see that the To: field is set to SW-L. Anything sent to that address will get sent to everyone on the list. Valerie's address is What's happening is that these people are replying to these emails from Valerie without realizing that they're sending to everyone on the list. It is possible to have replies sent to the sender alone by default; I discussed that with Paul when he took control of SLLING-L, and I don't know why he didn't do this with the new SW-L. In any case, everyone please note that a lot of people get annoyed when you don't take the time to check where your message is going from. They don't like getting personal messages or "unsubscribe" messages. They will then try and unsubscribe themselves, and further clutter up everyone else's mailbox. I've seen this happen on a number of lists. So everyone please STAY CALM and take the time to figure out what you're doing before you fire off these messages. Another thing I can't stress enough is the importance of READING ALL YOUR MAIL before you reply to a message. I can't tell you the number of redundant messages I've seen because people missed an explanation that was sent later. -Angus B.
