I wanted to share my excitement about the class I went to yesterday (Sunday July 25) at Pastor Detloff's church for the Deaf. It was a wonderful experience. As Pastor Detloff worked with us, teaching us First about the receptive and Expressive viewpoints. Then positions of shapes and how to tell where the shape was according to broken or whole shapes or lines. I was not only impressed by his teaching, but I was able to see things that I had missed in teaching myself at home. How rewarding it was to see the other people in the room respond and laugh at his many jokes, I was blessed to share this time with Pastor Detloff and his friends. I met several people and plan on going back every Sunday night until they kick my out ha ha ha. My ASL is very poor, So I had somewhat of a hard time with the grammer, I sign mostely Signed English, there is a big difference between the two. Lucky for me most of the Deaf know some English and were extremly unde! rstanding, so we were able to communicate. I met a wonderful woman who said she would help me and my daughter with ASL grammer. I hope Lourdous is reading this because I would love to try to met before school starts and I no longer have your email address :( please send it to me again. Dawn McReynolds. |
