The SignWriter Computer Program is for IBM Compatibles, and it has a dictionary program that is better than SignBank in many ways. It is true that the SignWriter dictionary cannot open with other programs at the moment, but SignBank on the Mac is far from perfect either...SignBank does not have a way to type SignWriting, only a way to store signs that are already typed.... Of course our goal is to have both on both computers, and to improve them as well...it is just very costly, and takes time - but we are working on it! Meanwhile, we have the web - and the SignBankSite offers data to anyone who can access the web, regardless of their computer model...and on top of that...technically you can open a web program and cut, copy and paste signs into other programs...so the web's SignBank will be like a floating dictionary, without all the special programming, and without purchasing anything - so it solves a lot of the problems of software development.
