This is true for programs written for those platforms, but
SignWriter 4.3 was written for DOS, so it has its own printer drivers
built in.
In May Cecelia Flood had trouble getting printers that worked
properly from the Albuquerque Public Schools. We went around to various
used computer stores in Albuquerque, and were able to find some old Epson
dot matrix printers for around $30 apiece, if I remember right.
I think the best thing to do is actually to load SignWriter on a
laptop and go to stores and ask to print a file as a test. Any
responsible salesperson will let you do that. You might want to have a
column-formatted file as well as a row-formatted one ready.
