I think you are right about the .GIF and the .JPEG....this is what seems to be true... In general, SignWriting diagrams do well as .GIF files. In general, color illustrations or photos do well as .JPEG. Of course there are exceptions, but I would suggest that you use .GIF for SignWriting, or of course, .SGN.
