"daughter", and even though technically it may be a compound, we are writing it as one sign without any hyphens, partly because the sign for "girl" actually changes as it moves down into the sign for "baby"...The movement changes from two brushes on the cheek in "girl", to one long brush and stroke that connects the sign for "girl" and "baby".....The movement symbol, in other words, took the place of the hyphen.
