December 17, 1999 Hello SignWriting List Members! Please forgive my silence in the past few days. Let me tell you what I have been doing.... I have been working on three web postings, and I have also been working on writing an Introduction to the new Brazilian Sign Language Dictionary, which will hopefully be published in the year 2000, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, under the direction of Fernando Capovilla. The Introduction I am writing is actually just a mini "Lessons in SignWriting Textbook", which Fernando will later translate into Portuguese. It is mostly just diagrams of the SignWriting symbols, along with examples of the uses of those symbols in some of the Brazilian signs that are entries in the Dictionary. So it is a listing of the symbols, and how they are applied to that language.
