I would love to be able to take notes at speed. That might be the ticket
for "selling" the idea of SignWriting here in Japan. Unfortunately, the
intensity of my interest does not nearly match the availability of my time.
How long would it take to learn this? If it takes anything as long as
shorthand English (which I imagine it would), I am not a good candidate for
trying it out. Plus the fact that I don't know ASL (although this GIF thing
is gaining me vocabulary, and it seems to "stick" better somehow in writing).
Be that as it may, I still cast a vote for revising the manual and taking a
stab at using it as a writing system. From your description, I would say it
has great promise.
