My sign for wolf is different, but I can read what you have. The second
sign is how I would write it. Your instincts are correct for opening a
closed fist to a clawed hand after the hands have moved foreward.

My sign for wolf has an open hand palm in front of the face moving away into
a closed angle hand, like a pointy nose.
