June 13, 2000 Lessons in Sign Language Transcription continues... Twenty-five years ago the Face Direction Lines were the only way to show "positions of the head". Now there are two choices. In the year 2000, more and more signs are written centered around facial expressions. And so the position of the head has moved from the Shoulder Line (Face Direction Lines), to the face itself. Notice in the diagrams below, the Nose Line is now on a slant, to show the direction of the nose: | |||||
