July 7, 2000 Dear avid rotation symbol writers! ;-) Try this exercise.... First write a sign with straight arrows. Write the beginning hand position of the sign. Now write all eight possible directions of arrows around it. The beginning hand position is the CENTER, and there are 8 possible directions of movement - up, up-diagonal, side, down-diagonal and so forth.... or forward, forward-diagonal, side and so forth... Then erase the arrows you do not want, and you are left with the proper placement of the arrow relating to the beginning hand position, which is in the center of the movement. It is the same with rotation symbols. Place the beginning handshape in the center, and write rotation symbols going clockwise and counter-clockwise around the beginning handshape. Then decide which path you want to paint, and eliminate the others. | |||||
