October 12, 1998 I am happy to tell you that I just received a letter from Kathy Akehurst, one of the teachers in the SignWriting Literacy Project. Kathy has seven students, all of whom are native ASL signers. Kathy tells me that the SignWriting books were given to the students on October 1st :-) Also, I am planning to place all of the SWLP reports on our SignWriting web site, so that teachers can fill them out through email - that will be a lot easier for everyone! I will announce when they are posted.
