Hello SignWriting List :-)
I have been receiving questions about symbols. Here is one of them:
Question:
"A guestion has been niggling at the back of my head regarding the written
sign for 'house'. It's about that movement indicator under the sign (looks
like a smile). I've taken that to be a dynamic indicator for smooth
movement, is that right? I'm doubting myself on this one! Thanks for your
help."
Answer:
That little curved line is called a "Simultaneous Line". The right and left
movements are happening "at the same". No, it does not mean smooth, it
means "at the same time".
An example of the sign for "house" is on the SignWriting Web Site. To see
the sign, go to this page:

Thanks for the question!
Valerie :-)
