August 9, 2001 Continuing SignBank Database discussion... Upon entering the SignBank Portal, visitors can choose from five SignBank formats. Attached is a GIF showing the third format....SignBank II Search. It is a special page that lets you search the database for signs that share common symbols. For example, in the attached example, I was searching for all the signs that have the Index Finger, with the palm of the hand facing the chest, and the finger pointing up....The two found signs appear to the left... Over to the right, is the searching area. Notice the "Symbol-At-A-Glance".....listing all the possible rotations and palm facings for that one hand symbol. I clicked on the box for the exact orientation I wanted, and presto! SignBank found the signs that include that specific symbol and orientation: | |||||
