SignWriting List August 9, 2001 Hello Everyone... Thanks for your questions, Ulla. Glad to hear you are using your new Finnish version of SignWriter 4.4. Questions are always welcome ;-) Regarding your first one.... QUESTION 1: "Ok, University of Turku has bought the program and CD. Is it okey to copy SW to the researchers in the university, so it will be available in about 5-10 computers? Is it okey to copy it to the Turku Polytechnic Institute, there is the signlanguage interpreter training unit? Can I copy it to all our students? (I'll start a new job on Monday, I'll work next year as an interpreter trainer in Turku Polytecnics)" ANSWER 1: Yes. You have our full permission to copy SignWriter 4.4 to other computers at the University, and to give it to your students too...I hope you will install it on 5-10 computers...that would be wonderful!....And go right ahead and share it with the Sign Language interpreters. SignWriter 4.4 can be downloaded free on the internet. The Finnish shareware is available on the web at no charge. It is nice, Ulla, that you arranged for the University of Turku to purchase your original SignWriter Computer Program copy, since it took me several days work to create the special Finnish version for you. And of course, if the University would be willing to purchase other copies of SignWriter 4.4, that would help our non-profit organization continue here in the US. But it is not a requirement to purchase other copies. Feel free to share the CD with anyone you wish. SignWriter 4.4 is our gift to the world...Future programs for SignWriting may not be as inexpensive...but SW 4.4 will always be free to share... -- Val ;-> ----------------------------- Valerie Sutton SignWritingSite: https://www.SignWriting.org SignWriting List Archives: https://groups.yahoo.com/group/sw-l/ To post a message to the SW List: | ||||||||||||
