Hi Valerie, for reasons which I don ±² understand it seems to be different - if I copy from floppy disk - there is no problem but if I burn the SW files on CD and copy the files now - I have to change the protected mode of the files on my harddisk !!! So it is a little bit different from what you described below ! Once you know this - it is no problem any more - quit protected mode when you check the dictionary files (both of them) with your Windows Explorer and now SW44 works without problems ! I just found out by accident. I am still a beginner in software matters !! But I feel pretty familiar with the possibilities of SW44 Stefan ;-) ----- Original Message ----- From: Valerie Sutton To: Sent: Sunday, August 12, 2001 6:50 PM Subject: Re: problems with the Dictionary in SW44 Re: Some basic information about SW needed... > Stefan wrote: > >If you copied the two dictionary - files ( .dic and .din ) from a CD > >then there can accur a problem in using it if there is a "Schreibschutz" > >So please get to the Windows - Explorer and check both files ( .dic) and > >(.din) and change the status from the protected mode to archives . > > > > SignWriting List > August 12, 2001 > > It is so great, Stefan, that you are giving tech support too...I do > not know Windows like you do.
