Just as a clarification for those new to this issue...SignWriter 4.3 is for MS-DOS, and it prints beautifully. The quality of printing in small sizes, for example, is wonderful. But the screen resolution (how the symbols look on the screen) is not as good as the newer program we are working on, SignWriter 5.0. That is because the old MS-DOS world had fewer dots per inch, so it was impossible to have symbols that didn't have some jagged edges. So, this means that when you want to "capture" symbols from the screen, or export files into paint programs, the symbols have jagged edges. So I always go in and "clean up the symbols" before I create .GIF files for the web. No problem...just time consuming. So that is why I am offering to post those "cleaner symbols" as .GIF files for people to download from our web site. This is only an interim solution, until our new program, SignWriter 5.0, is ready. Meanwhile, Caroline, it may be that people don't care about jagged edges, when playing puzzles! So using SignWriter 4.3 to type your puzzles will be fine, I think.
