Hi Val,
I went to library and finally got SignWriting materials. Librarian lady
bring SignWriting materials. I was kind shock because it was allot. Oh
Boy!!
I watch video tape (SignWriting Basics). I finally understand the different
between parallel with the wall and parallel with the floor. The funny
thing that My hearing daughter (7 years old ) sit next to me and watch the
tape and tell me about to see the different between parallel with the floor
and the wall. She hear me when I say myself " I don't see the different
between" " Where is the different between" "I can't tell the different."
She say to me, " Mom, Yes... There is different and say... Look at that
(She point her finger on the TV and show me look break and not break). I
say, Ohhh Yes I can see the different. I look at her and she smile at me.
She is so cute.
Val, Let me ask you a question.. I see the thick line that mean end of the
sentence. So Is that same as period? Am I right?
I like the America Sign Language Dictionary and Lessons in SignWriting
Textbook & Workbook.
The video tapes are good for beinnger to watch and learn. I like those,
too.
Val and other Deaf people who work with Val are great job and work so hard
to give deaf people, interpreter and Teacher for deaf school to learn
SignWriting. I really enjoy to learn so much from Val's SignWriting
materials. I will cont. to learn more..
Merry Christmas all of you!!! :-)
Lourdes

I am glad you are pleased, Lourdes :-)
If anyone else would like SignWriting materials in your local library, go
to the librarian and suggest that they request donated SignWriting
materials from ASL Access. The librarian should contact:
ASL Access
Christine Wixtrom
Founding Director
4217 Adrienne Drive
Alexandria, VA 22309.
https://www.aslaccess.org
Of course, there is no guarantee that ASL Access will immediately have the
funds to provide the donated materials, since they have to do fund raising,
but if they know there is a request from a specific library, then they can
raise the funds. And of course this helps our DAC to continue.
So thank you, Lourdes, for expressing interest in SignWriting to your
librarian - that is what made this possible!
Valerie :-)
