Lourdes, I agree that we must try our best at the English, but I also
agree that SignWriting is essential to teaching young children to
communicate earlier. My own hearing (I am hearing) grandchildren have
been able to do simple sign much earlier then speech! The words,
"please", "thank you", "love", "want", "welcome" are all known to my
gchild of 1 year old. He only speaks words such as "g'paw", "g'maw" for
now, but does well with signs. I hope that as they grow up in UKRAINE
they will have opportunity to learn SignWriting and the native sign
language there!
