January 18, 1999 Dear SW List Members..... Gosh! I am behind. I was scheduled to post our new Special Feature today :-( Well....life got in the way - ha! It is an exciting new Special Feature that shows photos of ASL captured from a video frame by frame and the writing of each frame in SignWriting....and then the frames "become true sentences". It teaches the reading and writing of classifiers and detailed facial expressions and gesture. Even if you do not know or use ASL, this lesson is important, because the frames will help you see how the SignWriting symbols are applied to writing gesture in general. But I am not done! And I estimate that I need two full days of work to complete it. I love preparing Special Features, and if I had my way... this is all I would do for the rest of my life! But unfortunately, I have to prepare a Treasurer's Report tonight (yuk), because if I don't, I can't apply for a grant which we need very badly :-( Soooo...I hope to post the new Special Feature by Thursday or Friday of this week. You will be the first to know when it is posted! Meanwhile, thanks so much everyone, for your wonderful posts, and one of these days maybe I will get the chance to comment on some of them!
