Filling-In
Dark Areas With Diagonal Strokes
(Handwriting
Only)
Diagonal strokes are not used when we type
by computer. The dark areas are perfectly
filled in by tapping on a certain key on the
computer keyboard.
When
writing by hand, filling-in a darkened section
of a symbol can be time consuming.
Below
you will notice that diagonal strokes are
used to indicated the dark section of the
symbol. It is faster to write than to fill
in the symbol completely.
These quick diagonal strokes are written after
the symbol is completed, a little like returning
to "dot the i" when writing in English.
Some people only write one stroke - the number
is totally up to the writer.
