LA JOLLA RECREATION CENTER: The SignWriting Workshop was held at the La Jolla Recreation Center, one block from the beach. Every morning, from 9:00 to 12:00, we discussed SignWriting in a relaxed atmosphere, with cookies and cut vegetables and lots of laughter!

Children played outside on swings and slides. Basketball games are held behind the Recreation Center. The Center was built in 1915 by Ellen Browning-Scripps whose residence was next door. It was dedicated that same year to the City of San Diego for the children of La Jolla. Today the Center is considered a historical site in San Diego. It provides nice classrooms for workshops.
