The Hand Chooser™ helps choose the oritentation of the hand. The chooser distinguishes between right and left hand. The palm facing with the hand twisted fully outwards (+) is also included for a full set orientations though the others are more commonly used.
The symbol in the top right hand corner is the currently selected symbol.
All of the settings can be selected using the keyboard.
You can switch from the wall plane to the floor plane and back using number 5 key. The top circle of rotations is for the wall plane and the lower circle of rotations is for the floor plane.
The numbers of the hand rotations selections are the 8 outside numeric keys of the numeric keyboard. Each of the 8 pointing away from the center.

8 | North of the plane. Pointing straight up in the wall plane or strait ahead in the floor plane. |
9 | North-East of the plane. Pointing upward-right diagonal in the wall plane or forward-right diagonal in the floor plane. |

3 | South-East of the plane. Pointing downward-right diagonal in the wall plane or backward-right diagonal in the floor plane. |
2 | South of the plane. Straight down in the wall plane or strait back in the floor plane. |
1 | South-West of the plane. Pointing downward-left diagonal in the wall plane or backward-left diagonal in the floor plane. |
4 | West of the plane. Left in both planes. |
7 | North-West of the plane. Pointing upward-left diagonal in the wall plane or forward-left diagonal in the floor plane. |

Alt-C | Change the selected symbol to the currently choosen one. |

Enter | Move over to the sign area and adds the selected symbol to the sign. |
Escape | Move over to the Favorite Symbols area. |
