This area is where the symbols are put together to create a sign.
When one or more symbols are selected, they turn purple and the other symbols become black.
If only one symbol is selected and then move back to a chooser, the chooser will change the selected symbol in the sign.
The numbers move the selected symbols to a 9 space grid corresponding to the numeric keypad.
Right click the sign for the popup menu to see available options.
If you select one symbol in the sign, the chooser finds the symbol in case you want to modify it. Just hit Escape and select the appropriate symbol.
If two symbols are partialy overlaping and you only want to select one, click on part of the symbol that does not overlap the other symbol.
If two symbols are overlaping and you only want to select one, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking on the selected symbols.
Position the mouse cursor over a symbol for a short description.
If you make a mistake hit Ctrl-Z to undo you last change.

| Insert | Insert the selected symbol from the chooser into the sign. |
| Delete | Delete the selected symbols. |
| Ctrl-Delete | Clear the sign. |

If any symbols are selected, unselect them. If no symbols are seleted, one is selected. |
