Hello Marie!
I am so glad to hear from you, and welcome to the SignWriting List!

I remember, when I sent you SignWriting materials back in May, 1997, how
impressed I was with your work with Maltese Sign Language. What a rare
opportunity for all of us to learn about a fairly new signed language. I
think you are very brave indeed to try to write it. If you write some
Maltese Sign Language, you can send me the document, and perhaps I can post
some of it on our web site later...I know everyone would be interested to
see it :-)

As you know, a new signed language, which is developing in Nicaragua, is
being studied and written in SignWriting now. You may want to communicate
with those who are doing research there. You can read about their work, and
contact them through our web site:

I will now write a second message, answering your questions about receptive
vs. expressive :-)
