Subject:  Learning ASL

On Tuesday, June 30, 1998, Anacorina Lola asked:

"Also, I wanted to know, if there is a way that you can think of that I
can practice ASL, outside of school? I know there are ways, but which do
you think is better for someone who wants to teach deaf kids? I
hope I am not bothering you too much, but any input from you would be
great. Now that I can actually see my career is closer, I would like to
learn as much as possible about Deaf culture, Deaf people, and of course
their language. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Anacorina Lola"

Hi Anacorina -
I am not an expert in teaching ASL (I just write the language). But I am
sure there are others here on this list who do teach ASL, and perhaps they
can give you some suggestions? I hope so.

Meanwhile, when you feel ready to learn SignWriting, contact me and we can
get you started :-)

All the best -

Valerie Sutton :-)
