October 21, 1998 Hello Everyone! I just received a letter from Diana Smith, the teacher at the Caldwell Elementary School in Wichita, Kansas. Diana tells me that the SignWriting materials were distributed to deaf students in the second grade, third grade and "a multi-handicapped grade on September 14th, 1998. So there are two schools in the Literacy Project that are presenting SignWriting to second graders. The other one is Texas School for the Deaf. It will be interesting to see if the students respond similarly in the two schools.
