Valerie ____________________________ January 25, 1999 Dear SignWriting List Members... As you may remember, 24 hours ago I announced our new Independent S'Writers Forum. I just posted the first contributing article to the Forum: A Giraffe Named Ivan by Nancy Romero https://www.SignWriting.org/writ002.html I assumed it would be months before someone else contributed a new article :-) Well...I was wrong!! Within 24 hours I received our second contributing article! Today, Lourdes and her son, Gabriel, sent me two email messages - one with the attached .SGN file, which is a poem written by Gabriel in ASL in SignWriting, and the other file included a wonderful photo of Gabriel, who is 12 years old, and an illustration of a horse, which is a lovely illustration :-) Thank you, Gabriel, for the great contribution....we will build a library of literature now, I can see that!! I cannot say exactly when I will get to posting your new contribution...it may be around ten days from now...I am sorry you have to wait (smile). We have several other groups waiting for me to post their work, related to other subjects, and I am working on those postings right now. But no matter what, your poem will be posted, and when it is, I will of course announce it to the SignWriting List! Thank you for the gift of the poem in SignWriting!
