In this photo Ronice Muller de Quadros is the interpreter, to the right. Ronice is a native signer, born from Deaf parents. She is studying linguistics at PUCRS, interested in the syntatical aspects of sign language. Her M.Sc. dissertation dealt with "empty syntactical categories" in Brazilian Sign Language. Her Ph.D. thesis will further that study.
