Hello everyone! This is Ronice Quadros. I am so glad to contact you from here at the DAC. I am with Valerie Sutton working with the Literacy Project for Brazil. I am really impressed with all that Valerie is doing by herself. She makes each book that we will be using in the Literacy Project. We can not realize how many things are involved to produce these materials (books, teacher's manual, text books, videotapes....). It is amazing! She does all this by herself. Valerie and I decided to improve the fingerspelling keyboard for LIBRAS (Brazilian Sign Language) in the SignWriter Computer Program. Also, we are working on the translation of the materials to Portuguese and LIBRAS. These will be used in Brazil. It is a lot of work! I feel fortunate to learn with Valerie Sutton and to know her personally, since she is the person to make possible to write sign languages. It is nice to share all of this with you!
