September 14, 1999 Dear SignWriting List: I am happy to announce a new web site, dedicated to SignWriting online databases: The SignBankSite https://www.SignBank.org Of course we still have the SignWriting web site, which continues to offer free lessons online, literature and general information about SignWriting. We established the SignBank for two reasons. First, we need SignWriting dictionaries online. Second, the same database will also be available as a Macintosh program, called SignBank. We first developed SignBank back in the mid-1980's for the Mac, and will now be reviving it. Plans for the SignBankSite: 1. to add lots of ASL signs (we only have a few online right now) and... 2. to add other databases from other countries...I want SignBank to be international. So I hope you will visit the new SignBankSite and tell me what you think!
