I have not forgotten your report, Michele, which I am eager to answer and post on our web site this weekend :-) Yes, the TeachASL List, I believe, consists mostly of teachers of ASL. Paul Cowley, our SW List owner, is also the owner of the TeachASL List. I would suggest writing to Paul privately for information on how to join: Paul Cowley I am a member of the TeachASL List, but I only post announcements about new postings on the SignWritingSite. Recently some of the TeachASL members started discussing SignWriting because of the recent ASL grammar lesson I posted. A few of the teachers defended SignWriting, but others are against writing ASL - so there are differing opinions, as always! I have been absorbed in grant writing for the SignWriting Literacy Project. While I am thinking of it...does anyone know of other foundations that grant funding to literacy projects? Several of you have already been very helpful giving me advice, and I do appreciate that...but if there is anyone else who can think of sources for funding please tell me. All grants and donations to our nonprofit are tax-deductible. We don't need that much funding, because I do everything on a shoestring, so I am looking for small foundation grants or individuals who would like to help one school get their donated supplies. If you know of anyone who is interested in helping a school, please tell me :-) I will write soon again and I look forward to it! Have a wonderful Friday- Valerie :-) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Valerie Sutton at the DAC Deaf Action Committee for SW SignWriting https://www.SignWriting.org Center For Sutton Movement Writing an educational nonprofit organization Box 517, La Jolla, CA, 92038-0517, USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
