November 27, 1998 Dear SW List! Below is a message from a member of the SignWriting List, Reverend Dettloff, who is using SignWriter 4.3 in MS-DOS. As you all know, you can download the shareware for free from our web site at: Download Shareware https://www.SignWriting.org/sw128.html We give free technical support anytime, so you are always welcome to contact me if you have problems using SignWriter. Reverend Dettloff had trouble printing, so he called me and I gave him tech support over the phone. I left him with some ideas he could try. Here is his response... Subject: printer success From: (Ronald H. Dettloff) Date: Sat, 21 Nov 1998 11:33:57 EST Valerie, Thanks for your help on the phone. I finally figured out how to hook it up. For the information of others who may have the same problem. 1. My printer is a Panasonic Laser printer I went into the printer setup on Windows. Read my instruction manual. There is a setup for DOS programs working within Windows. It will only print if I go into Windows first. If anyone has questions. E-mail me. 2. I need to know what liberties the copyright on your program gives the purchaser. Am I allowed to teach it? Can I make copies of the pages, or disks, for others, or do they need to purchase the materials themselves. Can we print or write in SignWriting without your permission. Please explain. Also suppose we wanted to publish a book in printed in SW. Would we need special permission? Please advise.
