we seem to have solved the problem here.... :O)))
or rather karl, my colleague, has solved the problem...
and the solution was rather simple too-
our computer is connected to a network...and thus all computers in this
department use the same printer, but for some strange reason you can
only print from MS DOS from the computer which is directly connected to
the printer (does this make any sense?) so we copied a few files on
diskette, tried printing from the computer directly connected to the
printer and hola!! it worked..
ok now i'm still confusing stuff here, because this problem was mainly
about exporting columns to bitmap...but that's fine, because if we can
now print directly from MS DOS (which we couldn't do so before) then the
problem is solved
mama mia i'm out of breath now ;O)

(another slight problem however is the printing of Formats 3, 4, 5, 7 -
these formats print two seperate pages on one page, however in our case
the second part of the page is never clear but kind of fuzzy, and we
can't understand why this is happening)
.....i knew we would never run out of problems no matter what ;O)
