The SignWriting Handbook is a hardbound book in German and German Sign Language. It is written by Stefan Wöhrmann, a dynamic teacher of the Deaf at the Osnabrück School for the Deaf in Germany. Stefan has been teaching SignWriting to his Deaf students for more than 15 years and uses SignWriting with his Deaf students for several purposes: 1) to write German Sign Language, 2) to translate German textbooks into written sign, and 3) to write the movements of the mouth while speaking, to assist his Deaf students to learn to pronounce German words, which is called Mundbildschrift, or SpeechWriting. This historic book teaches SignWriting and Wöhrmann's SpeechWriting. Included is a paper copy of an English translation.
