Welcome to the SignWriting Symposium 2024!

The SignWriting Symposium features presentations about SignWriting in 4 categories: Education, Literature, Software and Research, presented by teachers, writers, software developers and researchers around the world.

Each presentation is archived on the web with its own Presentation Web Page, including abstracts, papers, videos, slides, bios and photos.

The SignWriting Symposium was first presented in Brussels, Belgium, in 2005, as a conference of SignWriting teachers and researchers, who gathered together to discuss ideas for Deaf education.

In 2014, the Symposium became an online event and was broadcast LIVE online in Google Hangouts and YouTube for three years: July 2014, 2015 and 2016.

In 2017 & 2018, the Symposium changed formats. It was no longer streamed LIVE but instead presenters created their own documentation of their SignWriting projects, and sent the videos, PowerPoints, abstracts and documents to the Symposium directors, Valerie Sutton and Steve Slevinski, who then created web pages.

After 5 years, the SignWriting Symposium is back again!

Now we are using the Evan3 platform from Brazil, to help us post the presentations.

SignWriting is 50 years old in 2024, so it is a big celebration!

Come join us July 15, 16, 17 and 18, 2024!

This tutorial presents a step-by-step guide on how those registered for the 2024 International SignWriting Symposium can complete accreditation in the four days to prove their presence at the Symposium in order to receive the certificate upon completion of the event. The only way to prove your presence is by accessing the Even3 platform and logging in with the account already registered on the Even3 platform. To receive the certificate, you must confirm your presence on the four days of the event.
